I recently go to do the photographs for my boyfriend's band. They've been doing well with their tour n all that jazz that we thought it would be a good idea to get some nice band shots. I'm pretty thrilled on how they turned out and I can't wait to do some more band work in the near future!

The Best Summer Treat!

I think I found this recipe in a magazine but I'm not totally sure but ever since I saw it I've been dying to try it! And I thought I would share this wonderful simple recipe with you all.

THE WATERMELON-CUCUMBER SALAD:

What You Need;

4 cups of diced watermelon (i just used a little less than half of my watermelon)
1 cucumber sliced
a hand full of mint thinly sliced (to taste)
1/2 a cup of lime and or lemon juice (i used both)
1/4 olive oil
a hand full of feta cheese (again according to taste i LOVE feta so i used a few hand fulls <3)

How To Prepare;

simply toss all ingredients into a bowl and enjoy!

I had such a BLAST photographing this wedding. Everyone was so friendly and cooperative, not to mention the perfect weather! I was also thrilled for our 2nd location over at the Brea Damn trails, i really think those photos are just breath taking with the gorgeous lighting and lushness of the trails.

Road Trip!!

About two weeks ago me and my friend Tatiana went on a little road trip driving from here all the way to Seattle in a span of 10 days, stopping in San Fransisco, Portland, Olympia, Tacoma and Seattle.

For the first three days of our trip we followed my boyfriends band that is on tour (across the entire US!) to San Fransisco, Portland and Olympia. It was SO much fun getting to see his band play at all these cool different venues in places I've never been to before. And after we parted ways with the bands on tour me and Tatiana went up to Tacoma to stay with my friend Bobette. I LOVE TACOMA! Such a beautiful city that i would probably never would have thought to go to if Bobette didn't live there. If you ever find your self in Washington i suggest you check it out. She was a great tour guide, she took us on a crazy/beautiful hike where the forest meets the ocean, vintage shopping wonderful parks, coffee shops (the famous bikini coffee shops too! ha!) and she also gave us a nice tour of Seattle, records stores, frozen custard mmmm, and the famous hot dogs on the street with cream cheese and grilled onions! so good! After that we started going back north stopping at any interesting place on the way. And stayed in San Fransisco at some really amazing friends of Tati's for the last 3 days for gay pride week! It was SO crazy and exciting too see and be a part of it.

Anyways i decided not to bring my baby aka my camera because I was afraid I'd be worried about it the whole time so instead i barrowed my sisters really rad mini Polaroid camera and i thought I'd post of few photos that I took of my trip. I wish i would have taken more but we were SO busy running around.

I've been doing photographs for a friend of mine (the lovely Jun) for her Etsy www.etsy.com/shop/PearlySmithVintage. She has an amazing eye for adorable vintage clothes, seriously everything she finds i want for myself! It takes a lot of time and patients to go through tons of clothes to find the perfect item (for anyone thats ever gone vintage shopping knows what I'm talking about). I've been having a lot of fun doing these something about vintage fashion photography is inspiring for me and i love it! We did this shoot at none other than the Fullerton train station. It was a lot of fun to do a photo shoot my aunt and uncle and my cousins (all 7 of them!) We did this on Christmas day and the lighting was SOO wonderful i couldn't have been happier.

An old friend gave me a call and said that his girlfriend needed some head shots and asked me if I would take them. Never really taking head shots before i was excited for the new opportunity. We went to the San Juan Capistrano mission, I was thrilled to go there because the architecture is so beautiful, the only bummer is, that I was only doing close ups, so you cant really see it... Anyone need family photos? I have the perfect location!

The Patlee family is from India and they hired me to take photo's of their daughter's "pre-wedding" rituals. It was so interesting and beautiful! A total learning experience and I'm so glad I go to be a part of it. I feel like these photo's look like they are straight from National Geographic, but its really just in the city of Brea!

My aunt Heather (aka Tata) and her fiance Pierre came all the way from Paris to visit for a week and i got the chance to meet they're beautiful little baby Gwendolyn. Jordan and Filie's Wedding!

Jordan and Fillie got married in the Los Angeles temple. It was such a beautiful day and everything ran so smoothly, its was so nice to work with such a kind, stress free couple. It was also really cool to see all of their cultural ceremonies during the reception, there was a mix of Tongan, Hawaiian and Samoan's so yes the food was also AMAZING!

I am so ecstatic on how amazing all the photos turned out.

Harrison is Graduating!

Beth and Brendan Engagement

Beth and Brendan are my room mates so of corse i was flattered when they asked if i would photograph their wedding for them.
our plan for the engagement shoot was to go to the Fullerton Train Station but the day we have arranged to do the shoot there was a huge rally at the train station with over 3000 people there! So we ended up just going to a park which turned our to be awesome.

Hedi is Having a Baby!

When a good friend of my mom, Giorgia call me to see if i would photograph a baby shower she was putting on for her niece Hedi i was delighted! I have to say i was VERY impressed with how cute Giorgia decorated her home for the baby shower. Everything was so sweet and perfect.

I was really excited for this shoot because I have been aching to do a single portrait and Rochelle has the most awesome blond curly hair and i love the way the light catches her hair. And then when she told me about a house that hasn't been cleaned up yet since the fires in Yorba Linda i couldn't wait for our shoot.

after we were done at our 1st location i really wanted to turn the shoot around in the complete opposite direction and have a lot of green/plant life, so we ended up going into my back yard and I'm in love how well it balanced out our shoot.

Jordan and Fili Engaged!

I always love discovering cool new locations for photo shoots. So when we arrived at USC by the rose gardens I got really excited and i'm so glad that Jordan recommend it, because even though the rose gardens were closed for the winter there were still so many different options. And on top of that Jordan and Fili were so much fun and easy to work with i'm really looking forward to their wedding in May!!

for my parents christmas card we went down to the street from my house in fullerton to take our family pictures, so while they we're dressed up all cute and ready for pictures i took some family pictures for heather and ryan and since we we're already on a roll with taking pictures we ended up doing wendy's 7 (and a half) pictures as well.

So this photo shoot was shot on "black friday" mind you i work at the brea mall so i had work from 3:30 am til 9:30am and straight from there i went to my sister Heather's house to meet up for the shoot. Cloudy Days

I know that the term "cloudy day" is supposed to mean a bad day, but personally i LOVE cloudy days. Usually the day after it rains are my all time favorite days. And another weird thing is i LOVE the morning even though i always miss it when i have to wake up early for work i dont mind do much because i think everything is so peaceful in the morning.
